After the date specified, please check the APNIC document store located at ftp://ftp.apnic.net/apnic/docs for a later version of this form. In order to continue and to improve the quality of service offered to the Asia and Pacific Rim Internet communities by the Asia Pacific Network Information Center, APNIC requires a stable and sufficient source of income. On June 1, 1996 APNIC instituted a fee-for-service funding plan to provide that income. In order to obtain services from APNIC in a timely manner, APNIC only allocates address space to member organizations. This form will allow an organization to apply for APNIC membership. Please provide the information requested below submit this application to member-apply@postoffice.apnic.net. When we receive your membership application, we will send out (via electronic mail) your account name to be used in subsequent communications with APNIC and (via postal mail) an invoice and the APNIC Service Agreement. When APNIC receives either the original signed service agreement back, a facsimile of the signed service agreement, or notification (from our bank) of receipt of funds corresponding to the category you have chosen, we will begin processing your request normally. Prior to the receipt of either the service agreement (in original or faxed form) or the funds, APNIC will be unable to process your request. Note that if you provide a fax of your signed service agreement, the paper copy MUST follow within 10 work days or APNIC may return any resources allocated to your organization to the free pool. *IMPORTANT* It must be stressed that membership within APNIC simply provides access to APNIC services, of which resource allocation is one. Allocation of Internet resources by all Internet registries must be based on documented needs, being a member of APNIC does *NOT* imply APNIC will be able to waive the justification requirements necessary for the allocation of resources. Organizations interested in understanding the guidelines under which the Internet registry system operates are directed to RFC 2050 "Internet Registry IP Allocation Guidelines", available from the following URL: ftp://ftp.apnic.net/ietf/rfc/rfc2050.txt For more information about APNIC, its structure and membership benefits, please see the By-Laws of APNIC (APNIC-037) and the APNIC Membership agreement (APNIC-050), both available from the APNIC document store located at ftp://ftp.apnic.net/apnic/docs.
