Our testing of the AS request parser of previous AS requests indicate that common errors are the invalid syntax in the routing policy defined in the "as-in" and "as-out" lines and the omission of the mandatory attribute "mnt-by". All modification and deletion of APNIC aut-num objects can also be done with the web form. The web form is now at: http://www.apnic.net/db/aut-num.html Information about the AS request procedure and most common errors output by the parser is at: http://www.apnic.net/db/AS.html All AS requests will be received via the web-form or to the email address . If you have problems getting through the parser after several attempts, you can email the AS request to with "[NO-PARSE]" and your APNIC Account name in the Subject line. We welcome any comments regarding the AS Request, Modification and Deletion Form. If you have any questions please feel free to email us at your convenience. This new request form, although available for use immediately, is released as provisional and will remain at draft status for the duration of this call for comments. This form has been created for organisations (APNIC members and non-members) that hold historic Provider Independent IP address ranges that they no longer require. In addition, this form can also be used by organisations that hold three or more discontiguous Provider Independent address ranges and wish to exchange them for a single contiguous range. This form creates procedural improvements for existing APNIC policies only and does not create any new rights or obligations. The form is available at: http://ftp.apnic.net/apnic/docs/address-return-request APNIC is pleased to invite your comments to secretariat@apnic.net by 31 December 1999. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ FORM AMENDED - APNIC Autonomous System Number Request Form The recent introduction of APNIC's new Autonomous System (AS) request parser and the web-based AS request form has required a minor amendment to APNIC-066 "APNIC Autonomous System Number Request Form". The explanatory notes under the heading "AUT-NUM:" now specify that the text "THIS-AS" must be included in the aut-num field for correct parsing of the form. This amendment is procedural only and does not create any new rights or obligations. Members who keep a local copy of APNIC forms are advised to download the amended version from: http://ftp.apnic.net/apnic/docs/asn-request This amended version has also been archived at: http://ftp.apnic.net/apnic/archive/apnic-066-1.txt If you have any questions or comments about this change, please feel free to email info@apnic.net. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + APNIC Secretariat Tel: +61-7-3367-0490 Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) Ltd Fax: +61-7-3367-0482 Level 1, 33 Park Road, PO Box 2131, Milton, QLD 4064, Australia + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + * APNIC-ANNOUNCE: Announcements concerning APNIC * * To unsubscribe, send "unsubscribe" to apnic-announce-request@apnic.net * From owner-apnic-announce@lists.apnic.net Mon Nov 22 15:44:18 1999 Received: (from majordom@localhost) by whois.apnic.net (8.9.3/8.9.3) id PAA87964; Mon, 22 Nov 1999 15:44:15 +1000 (EST) Received: from guardian.apnic.net (guardian.apnic.net [203.37.255.100]) by whois.apnic.net (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id PAA87960 for ; Mon, 22 Nov 1999 15:44:13 +1000 (EST) Received: (from mail@localhost) by guardian.apnic.net (8.9.3/8.9.3) id PAA14115 for ; Mon, 22 Nov 1999 15:44:13 +1000 (EST) Received: from hadrian.staff.apnic.net(192.168.1.1) by int-gw.staff.apnic.net via smap (V2.1) id xma014111; Mon, 22 Nov 99 15:44:03 +1000 Received: from wilson (wrk-8.staff.apnic.net [192.168.1.71]) by hadrian.staff.apnic.net (8.9.3/8.9.3) with SMTP id PAA12961 for ; Mon, 22 Nov 1999 15:44:01 +1000 (EST) From: "Paul Wilson" To: Subject: [apnic-announce] APNIC Annual Member Meeting - Seoul, 3 Mar 2000 Date: Mon, 22 Nov 1999 15:44:00 +1000 Organization: APNIC Pty Ltd Message-ID: <01BF34F9.EFD68E20.gerard@apnic.net> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: Microsoft Internet E-mail/MAPI - 8.0.0.4211 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V4.72.3110.3 Sender: owner-apnic-announce@lists.apnic.net Precedence: bulk Reply-To: apnic-talk@apnic.net [Note "reply-to:" field] Dear APNIC Member, APNIC is pleased to announce that our next Annual Member Meeting will be held in association with the APRICOT 2000 conference, at the Hotel Intercontinental in Seoul, Korea, on Friday 3 March 2000. The APNIC Annual Member Meeting provides a forum for Members' discussions and decision-making on issues specific to APNIC Membership, including the APNIC budget and workplan, and the election of members of the APNIC Executive Council. It is the major event in APNIC's annual calendar, and all Members are strongly encouraged to attend and participate! APNIC is also assisting APRICOT in 2000, both as a major conference sponsor and as co-ordinator of a "track" within the conference programme. APNIC activities during the APRICOT week (28 Feb to 2 March) will include: * Tutorials and "special interest group" sessions, which we hope will be of particular interest to APNIC members. * APNIC's "Hostmaster Clinic" where hostmaster staff will be available for question and answer sessions with APNIC members. * An "Open Policy Meeting", for the discussion of policy issues relating to Internet resource distribution and management. Anyone with an interest in IP addressing and management issues will be most welcome at this meeting. We encourage all APNIC Members to attend the entire APRICOT conference, both to attend the APNIC Annual Members Meeting, and to take advantage of the entire APRICOT programme, as an excellent networking and training opportunity. Please contact us at if you have any questions or suggestions in relation to this announcement. Further details will be published soon (via the APNIC website at http://www.apnic.net), and we look forward to seeing you in Seoul, in 2000.
