However, hopefully you will find this report interesting and will take the time to look through this to see if you can improve the amount of aggregation you perform. The report is split into sections: 0) General Status List the route table history for the last week, list any possibly bogus routes seen and give some status on ASes. 1) Gains by aggregating at the origin AS level This lists the "Top 30" players who if they decided to aggregate their announced classful prefixes at the origin AS level could make a significant difference in the reduction of the current size of the Internet routing table. This calculation does not take into account the inclusion of holes when forming an aggregate so it is possible even larger reduction should be possible. 2) Weekly Delta A summary of the last weeks changes in terms of withdrawn and added routes. Please note that this is only a snapshot but does give some indication of ASes participating in CIDR. Clearly, it is generally a good thing to see a large amont of withdrawls. 3) Interesting aggregates Interesting here means not an aggregate made as a set of classful routes. Thanks to xara.net for giving me access to their routing tables once a day. Please send any comments about this report directly to me. While I think its generally thought that some dampening is a "good thing", I think its far from clear that "progressive" dampening provides any additional gain, in an operational view. Thus the decision to dampen in a progressive way is more of a policy issue and one that any ISP needs to consider as part of its service offering to its customers rather than 'the greater good of the Internet' -scott >1.3 "Progressive" versus "flat&gentle" approach > > One easy approach would be to just apply the current default-parameters > which are treating all prefixes equally ("flat&gentle") everywhere, > however, there is a major concern to penalize longer prefixes > (=smaller aggregates) more than well aggregated short prefixes > ("progressive"), because the number of short prefixes in the > routing table is significantly lower > and it seems in general that those are tending to be more stable and > also are tending to effect more users. In today's courts, being right does not assure victory. Just read the papers or watch the news and you know the abortion going on with justice! Not to mention, when you die, all of the assets you have managed to retain after all of your financial challenges you have surmounted through life, taxes, medical bills, education, etc. will be gobbled up by probate and inheritance tax. Doesn't your children deserve your assets more than some bureaucracy, tax, or lawyer? I hope so. So. . . what are you going to do? Do you want to do something about it? Right now? Then I ask you. . . Let me show you how I have been doing it. It works, it is available now, and you can do it, anyone can. And we can show you how to reduce your taxes (eliminate your taxes in some cases), protect your assets, protect yourself from any lawsuits, eliminate probate and estate taxes at death, and much, much more! You only need to work 12 hours per week to do it. What is stopping you? The most millionaires made last year came from businesses like this. Why not you? It is not a matter of chance attaining wealth. It is strategy, hard work, and determination with a good opportunity. I do hope you will contact me. I can not help you unless you take the next step. What you do today has a very strong bearing on where you will be next year. To contact me, simply reply to this message or call me at the number listed below! Sincerely, Ted T.
