BACKGROUND During the APNIC Member Meeting in March 2000, we announced our intention to translate APNIC documents into the major languages of the region. This was well supported by APNIC members, and the budget for 2000 provided an allocation for an initial project, as the first step in a longer term programme of document translation. We propose to involve members in this project from the start, so that a network of specialised translators can be developed within the region to support ongoing translation activities. All translations will be freely available on the APNIC web site. Members who assist in each translation will be acknowledged on the relevant document and on the web site. HOW TO GET INVOLVED If you know of an experienced translator in your country, or if you have a suitably qualified translator on your staff, please consider submitting a proposal. One of the most serious issues we have is the IPv6 address allocation guidelines. It will be discussed in a separate session of the policy SIG. For those who have any opinions/comments on the current draft of the guidelines, - submit your comments to IPv6 SIG mailing list, sig-ipv6@lists.apnic.net, as soon as possible - plan to join the policy SIG (Oct 26th and 27th) as well as IPv6 SIG session This e-mail is a request for contributions.
