First Asia and Pacific Rim Network Information Centers Meeting The first APNIC meeting will be held at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok Thailand on Jan 16 and 17, 1995. Service Providers, national NICs, and other interested individuals are invited to attend and particpate. The offical language of the meeting will be English. Accomodations: Chulalongkorn University has reserved rooms on campus at the new Faculty dorm at a cost of approximately $24/$36 US (single/double). The faculty dorm rooms are 24 sq. meters for a single and 33 sq. meters for a double with standard hotel room accomodations (shower, closet, bed, sheets). Rates: USD 140 Tel: 011-662-2530355 Fax: 011-662-2532275 Expenses: The First APNIC meeting is being funded by NATC, a subsidiary of NTT through the kind offices of Dr. Tanaka and Dr. Nemoto of NATC and Dr. Goto and Ms. Oka of NTT. Additional funding may be provided by Chulalongkorn University. Thus, the APNIC meeting has no registration fee for attendees. Attendees will, of course, be responsible for airfare, hotel, food, and transportation from Don Muang Airport 30 km. to Chulalongkorn University. The last can be expected to run: airport taxi 200 bahts (depends on traffic) airport limousine 400 bahts You can expect breakfast and dinner to be around $5-10 US. You can also find $1 US meal at the student dorm near by. Internet Facilities: Full Internet access for 10 seats will be provided during the evening hours (5-9pm). During working hours staff terminals can also be used especially around 5 seats at the Gateway facilities. Dialup access will be available from your rooms, but you will need to compete for modems with the rest of Chulalongkorn University.
